i am doing English Literature for one of my A levels and for our coursework we are studying 3 novels, one of which is American Psycho. i finished the book and in all honesty, i do not understand the ending. i kind of understand that everything is inside Pat Batman's mind but i do not understand his little speech at the end where he stands up in Harry's. i also didn't really understand where it says THIS IS NOT AN EXIT, even though i had ideas that maybe it meant there was no escaping from his reality? i'm not really sure, i don't really want to ask my teacher because he's the kind of man who just expects you to know the answers and if you don't he can be quite belittling without realizing it.
please help!! :)
