What is the main difference between Creationism and Biology (Evolution)?

One provides useful advances in medicine and other bio-technologies.

The other only provides support for a literal interpretation of a single set of scriptures, without saying why the creation story contained in Genesis is better than any other religious creation story.

I'm not sure what you wanna hear. But the distinction between creationism and evolution without any input of supernatural being is in their definition.
Creationism believes that God is the origin of all creation why Evolution and related theories say it's a pure chance and coincidence that something came to be and that it came to be in the specific way it did and that it occurred naturally without any supervision of any supernatural being.

Creationism doesn't really contradict Evolution all that much. Creationism tries to explain the origins of life from a biblical perspective (through magic creation from dust and rib) while evolution documents the change of living organisms over time (which we can observe via bacteria in a process colloquially known as micro-evolution.)
Main difference: Evolution is based on logic and scientific processes. Creationism is based on magic.

The study of where life on Earth originates is called Abiogenesis, not evolution.
