What is the longest running Canadian animated TV show ever?

Arthur? It was done by Cinar - now Cookie Jar - which is a Canadian company, and it's got thirteen seasons, having started in 1996. Don't know if that counts though, since it's kind of both an American and Canadian show.

Then maybe Caillou? That show's been around since 1998, although due to huge production gaps, it's only going into its fifth season, so I don't know if that counts either.

Beyond those two I don't know.

There's also The Raccoons who had lots of episodes...so I'd say The Raccoons and Arthur are the top two...beyond that I'm not sure...

for the Raccoons, the regular series was from 1985 to 1990 and the tv special like the Christmas Raccoons, Raccoons on Ice, it spanned a decade.

Then you have Arthur and Caillou followed by 6teen

Yeah, i think Arthur is the most longest running animated show made in Canada. The Raccoons was airing between 1985 and 1991 with 60 episodes and 4 TV specials and Caillou, i still wonder if it's ended or not. I know they don't air on Teletoon anymore.

I agree with Arthur. Season 13 is airing on TVO Ontario, Canada before it airs on PBS Kids in the USA in 2009-2010 (The remaining Season 12 Arthur episodes will air on PBS Kids in the USA in mid April 2009).

I was gonna say Ed, Edd, N Eddy, but then someone mentioned Arthur's date, which obviously wins. Although I technically only know that the creator was Canadian, I don't happen to know if the show was specifically distributed from there or not.

Yeah, Ed Edd n Eddy is an odd case...

It's purely made in Canada, but, IIRC, only the first season ever aired there (and it subsequently bombed in its homeland), so it's a bit hard to know if it counts as one of the longest-running.
