What is the latest iPod touch version that redsn0w will jailbreak (UNTETHERED)?

i have an ipod touch 4g.
my current version is 4.2.1, so a untethered JB for that would be sweet.
i can downgrade if needed.
i dont want tethered tho cus thats no fun.

also, any info about other JBs like limera1n and stuff would be hellpful.
ive never jailbroken b4 so please give info!

please dont give me stuff like silverra1n or fake virus stuff like that, because if i havent heard of it, i wont go to it.
