What is the "image" of the beast in Rev. 13:15?

v15 - "And he had power to give life unto the "image" of the beast, that the "image" of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the "image" of the beast should be killed."

In the preceeding verse, the people who dwell on earth will be told to make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. Your thoughts on what this "image" is referring to? Thank you!

maybe its a virtual reality thing you have to sign into every morning to log onto the system .. or maybe it just does it for you via the chip implant in your forehead and the camera that catches you at the street corner ..
