what is the history of influenza a h1n1?

I'm not sure anyone knows for sure what the point of origin was for H1N1 "Swine Flu." I found the article cited by the first writer, but also found one that said that the virus may have been knocking around in the border region for months before the first case, and may actually have originated in California. The first diagnosed case was a boy in San Diego who had NOT been to Mexico, nor had he been exposed to pigs. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,518572,00.html

Here's a time line, tracing the history of the disease. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,518187,00.html

Here's a (lengthy) history of the "swine flu," including its origins in the 1918 Flu Epidemic. http://www.emedicinehealth.com/swine_flu/article_em.htm#history Here's another one: http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/155761.php

Another time line. You can go forward in history by advancing the time line by clicking on the years you are interested in on the time line itself, at the top of the page. http://www.google.com/search?q=history+swine+flu&hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hs=x5o&sa=X&tbo=1&tbs=tl:1,tll:1910,tlh:1919&ei=3UhZSq2pJo2gswO_862eCQ&oi=timeline_histogram_main&ct=timeline-histogram&cd=1

That ought to keep you busy and off the streets! ;o)
