Now I know this may be a bit of an over-reaction, but I was appalled last night to see faux hip-hop dancers react to every 6 and wicket at my first time attending T20.
Instead of the cameras at the ground focusing on the players celebrations or reactions I felt it a complete disgrace to the game that the audience was subjected to 20 seconds of ridiculous choreographed pseudo-cheerleading each time before the replay. I can handle players having theme-music and even the 'fireworks' (as much as both made me cringe) but the dancers were a step way too far for my liking.
Is there anyone out there that feels these things contribute positively to the game or atmosphere?
BTW: There were both male and female dancers. I agree seeing Slats up there was another real low-light of the experience, yet one I strangely struggled to look away from.
