What is the fastest speed you can reach on a bmx bike?

It depends on how fast you can pedal not the bike. If you pedal at 100 rpm's you will get 16.5 mph with normal gearing.
 
If you want to go fast on a bicycle then a BMX bike is not the right choice. I have gone 54mph on my road bike while on a down hill. I know people who have gone over 60mph on downhills.

But it all depends on the rider's strength and the terrain. It is easier to go faster on a downhill, ect.
