What is the difference between serving jail time and In Camp?

My best friend, got convicted for a misdemeanor, and decided he want to serve his time in camp, instead of doing community work, does anybody know what it's like to do in camp?? obviously he can't go home, so it's like basically going to jail on the weekends, is it jail? or a different program?

"Camp" is just a term used in conjunction with a State associated "boot camp."

It is a system often used where younger people lack certain skills and discipline.

The purpose of "camp" is to instill common sense, knowledge, discipline, and team work!

It's not freedom...but certainly better than jail.
