What is the difference between economics and business studies?

I got a B in business studies in GCSE and don't know if I can manage Economics in AS, I do find them interesting...

Economics concerns itself with how scarce resources are allocated to satisfy people's wants and needs. In other words, Economics studies how people use resources that are ''rare'' to satisfy the unlimited wants and needs of people.

Business Studies on the other hand studies the function of a business and the decisions businesses make to ensure they make a profit and ultimately survive.

Generally speaking, Economics is more ''rigorous'' than Business Studies, and is also a much more prestigious subject to gain knowledge about.

business studies is totally different to economics.

bs - involves marketing, the workings for a business, info systems

economics - is more complicated. its the working of the economy as a whole and not a business. economics is generally more in depth, how a business makes more in its market etc

for me I was good a business for the leaving (in ireland our a levels) but i did business in college and failed economics. not to put you off but just to say they really aren;t the same
