What is the difference between an H6 and an HD6 GM a/c compressor?

I have a 95 Cadillac and need to replace the air conditioning compressor. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between an H6 and an HD6 compressor? It would almost appear they are interchangeable. Someone who is in the know about these would be very helpful to me. Thanks!
