what is the difference between a cremation urn and an outdoor urn with a lid to store

ashes? ? We want to keep my grandmother's ashes in a container in the garden (above ground). I feel like the industry takes advantage of emotions and charges extra for "cremation urns" plus I'd like to get this before I leave my grandma's house and return home. Any suggestions?
