What is the debate over abortion?

Some are against it,some are for it.Um that's pretty much it.Those against it are usually for religions reasons. Those for it are usually because of a "right to our body" argument.

Pro Life - Against Abortions

Pro Choice - Against Abortions

Also there is a grey area where most people fit in. That are against Abortions but are ok with some cases like Rape, incest, or death of parent/child.

It is a question of competing rights.

The left will argue for the rights of the mother to kill the fetus because it is inside her body.

The right will argue for the civil rights of fetus to be born. The mother's rights do not supersede the unborn baby's.

Simple. The Supreme Court ruled that states cannot ban abortion. They ignored the 9th and 10th amendments and took away CHOICE from the people of the various states.

The debate is as follows...

Majority of Americans: "there are always going to be unplanned pregnancies and rapes, so let's make sure women don't have to turn to back-alley abortions where likely both mother and child will die"

Republican: "I don't care about logic, a ban on abortions has to be the only solution because it's right there in the name! A BAN..on ABORTIONS...so after they are banned, it will be physically impossible for there to ever be another abortion ever again, yaaaayyy!!!!"

The debate over abortion is based on when a unborn child is considered to be a person. The pro-life feel it is life at conception. Those against think like 20 weeks or something.

There are also those that disagree with it being a form of birth control and preach personal responsibility prior to sexual activity as opposed to those who think their right to choose overrides that.
