What is the culture in China like today?

I know that China is quite westernised now but in what specific areas? What aspects of china have remained traditional? this country has a really interesting history but i don't know much about it in modern life. Can someone give me some basic information on modern Chinese culture?
 
I guess those living in the rural mountains of Central China would have the purest and unadulterated Chinese culture nowadays.

The Cultural Revolution of Mao Zedong completely eradicated customs and traditions that are special to the Chinese. This created a generation of spoiled brats who don't know a whit about their own culture.

Even Overseas Chinese are better in observing Chinese culture and traditions rather than the Mainland Chinese living in cities.

It's a very sad transformation.
