What is the cost of the 100,000 timing belt maintenance on a 95 Honda Civic and is it...

...necessary right away? I'm thinking about buying a 95 Honda Civic with 110,000 but there was no timing belt replaced yet.

I can't give you a pat answer on the dollar amount, but the Honda dealership can.

100,000 miles? My guess is ,that year, it's way past due for sure and yes, that would be necessary right away.

They'll want to do the water pump too. $1,000.00 total bill maybe.

My guess is that is an 'interference' engine. Meaning when the belt breaks there's interference between the valves and pistons and that will be COSTLY to say the least!

If that happens, consider it totaled for all intense and purposes.

It'll cost about $700 if you do the water pump at the same time which most dealers will recommend.

I wouldn't put it off because a broken or slipped timing belt means a minimum $2000 repair.

Some crappy cars like a Chevy Aveo will break theirs at 50k - 60k, but a Honda will go about 100k.
