I recently was tested for asthma and found out I have sports enduced asthma and bronchitus. My doctor gave prescribed me an inhaler, I believe it's called albuterol or something like that? This is probably such a stupid question, but I don't feel like it's helping any so I must not be doing it right. Do you shake it.. then inhale and as you're inhaling press the button and breath the stuff in? Idk whatever I'm doing, it's not working. Thank you!!

You may need a spacer. If you are inexperienced with using an inhaler the technique can be quite hard to master even though it is such a simple thing. I have had an inhaler for as long as i can remember and i am 16, however now it is winter i am having trouble with getting releif from the puffer. When i was in the hospital they wanted to open my lungs out so i used a spacer where the meicine was sprayed into and air tight cylinder and i had my mouth on the other side and was just breathing normally, this takes a litte longer but i found it provided releif a lot easier and i am going to get my own tomorrow. Hope this helps :) x
