There has been a really bright star out lately and I would like to know what that is? Is it a planet? If so which one?

It could be Venus. It's really bright, and has been near the moon lately. About a month ago, Mars was there too, and it made the moon look like a frowny face. ;p

Honestly I'm not sure. I've ben wondering the same exact thing! It could be the North Star, or a planet (Venus or Mars?)

Hope this helps!

I saw that last night as well and wondered the same thing. I just checked the Adler Planetarium here in Chicago and their web site says it was Venus!
