what is the best wood for outdoor furniture ?

I saw this pergola around my new neighbors backyard and it is indeed every nice. I was thinking to buy a garden pergola and decorate it for our anniversary this next week. So can any one help me decide what kind of wood will be best for the pergola so that I can tell the store.

I will also appreciate if someone can share tips to have a romantic dinner at a pergola. A design or style.
