What is the best way to keep up with current events?

Read the Newspaper every day? Watch the news? Which channel?
Is the internet really a good resource? Which news sources are the best? Why?
Which ways are more time consuming? Which are quicker?
I hear about things going on in the world and I want to keep up better. Any advice is appreciated.
