What is the best way to get a car to a repair shop?

I hate bugging my friends when I take my car into the shop and then have them pick me up after it is fixed. It is inconvenient for them and a hassle for me if I need to go anywhere during the day. What sort of alternatives are available?
 
Either your chevrolegs or a bike. If they are your friends they should be willing to help you out when you are in a bind. That is if it's a rare occurrence. If you are always going through this and keep bugging them, I would try to find another way.
