I'm really a novice when it comes to cooking. I plan to dip the fresh fish into flour, then fry on the stove. But keeping it simple, what are some basic spices to add to give it a little flavor?
Mix some salt, pepper, garlic powder and a bit of parsley (if you have it). Also, a lemon-pepper blend with some salt is good. If you like spicy food, add some cajun seasoning to your flour (good on snapper and catfish). Salmon goes nicely with dill. Any number of herbs compliment fish, try oregano and basil too.
