I commute on a Vision Recumbent. It originally came with 26x1 inch rear wheel and 20x1 inch front wheel 100 PSI tires. It has full front and rear suspension.
When I bought this used bike, the tires were old and cracked but I ignored them and continued to ride the bike. About 400 miles later, the rear tire blew out. I went to a local Performance Bike shop and was only able to find 26x1-1/4 tires. Well I bough it for $12 anyway and a tube to match the tire size. Another 350 miles and I am happy with the larger tire. It is rated at 85 but I run it at 100 PSI and am happy with the low rolling resistance so much so, I bought another for a spare.
Now worried about the front wheel that was in better condition. I started to search but can not find any tires in my local store that was smaller than 20x1.75. On line stores such as Harris Cyclery has 20x1-1/8 for $38 and there will be shipping charge.
Does anyone know where I can find more reasonably priced high pressure 20x1 or 20x1-1/8 or even 20x1-1/4 inch tires that is rated for at least 85 PSI for about $20 or $25?
Thanks for your help.
