What is the best phone for GSM and CDMA?!

My sister and I are on Cingular and Metro PCS. We are having a hard time with Nokia right now. My Cingular branded 6682 is having software issues. My sister's Nokia 6255 has a broken flip (it had a crack in the hinge). This is a manufacturer defect and Nokia will not fix her phone unless she pays for it. Can anyone recommended a good phone that has great reception and is sturdy? Thanks!

GSM: almost every nokia with 850 are good enough, maybe you jst need to update your 6682, and lets see what happens.

CDMA: dnt know

The price may be a little steep, but the Nokia 8801 is built pretty solid.
