school? My son has just turned 7 years old, and he is having a terrible time learning to read and comprehend simple sounds of letters. before diagnosing him, I decided last year to pull him from public school and give home school a try, the school principal wanted to retain him in kindergarten unless he could show improvement over the summer time, which both my wife and I promised. Our neighbor and good friend has home schooled her kids for several years and we asked her to Tudor our son over the summer to help "catch him up" before school started up again. He did so well during that time, his self esteem also went up tremendously. the last 2 months at public school, he was always crying and at times a teacher or sometimes even the principal has to come and "peal" him from us to go into the school and that was very hard to deal with! He did so well that we decided to keep him in home school for his 1st grade and see how well he did. as of know, at the mid point of the school year, home school has helped him in several ways, but now we are finding out he is dyslectic. My wife and I are finding our selves at a big disagreement on weather to continue home school and find some extra help or put him back into public school. as I am finding my self more and more wanting to support home school, I attempt to research online what is best for him with his learning disability even by just googling Dyslexia, home school is always in the articles. What can the "normal" public schools offer for him and is it better that home school?
