All I keep finding is all this generations-old geneology crap.

What is or are the most widely read newspapers there?

Would they be the best sources?

I've lost touch with a dear friend who might be seriously ill, and I'm worried sick that something may have happened to her.

Please help. Thanks......
 
the hert's advertiser is the main newspaper

if not you could try something like the St Albans review, because it caters for the surrouning area.
