The honest truth is that gaming headsets really aren't that great. It seems that manufacturers don't really get the best of both in the same item.
Over the years of playing online I have had 12 gaming headsets break on me from all brands (plantronics, sennheiser, logitech etc), so now I have a separate headphones (beyerdynamic dt770s which are considered the best gaming headphones) and microphone (Sennheiser e840) and the combination is one of the best people have ever used when they use my system.
However, I have heard good things about the Medusa 5.1 Gaming Headset, so although I don't own one, consider buying one of these.
