What is the best cooking oil to use for frying potato chips cut from potatoes?

Not for frozen pre-cooked chips.
I've tried extra-virgin olive oil but it just does do it any justice.

I use mild olive oil for frying, much healthier that the other oils...anyway extra virgin olive oil is not supposed to be used for frying...i dont think....is it not just for drizzling on salads and things!

Peanut oil is the best but it gets expensive, i use wesson canola oil to fry them in and it doesnt leave a greasy taste to them...
