What is the best cable/satellite company for someone moving into their first apartment?

I'm moving out into my first apartment, and I'm 18 years old, and I wanted to know which company (like Dish, Direct TV, Charter, Comcast, etc.) is best for someone with a low income (minimum wage) I prefer satellite because i heard it is better, but I want to know both sides of the coin. Oh, and I dont need all the extra stuff that comes with it (like phone lines, or internet or anything)...thanks
