I am about 6" tall and weigh about 85kg (170lbs), no real belly or fat thighs, but my shoulders aren't really broad. you could say I'm "solid".

Should I try and lose some weight so I am a bit lighter around the field, or should I work on my fitness and use my weight to my advantage?

When you are a thin and light you get pushed around a bit by the bigger players but it would take less energy to move yourself around.

However having that extra weight enables you to resist those shoulder bargers.

if you are a striker i would say be the light guy, but if you play fullback, then try and muscle up. if you play mid or a combination of all positions, then all i can say is have a really strong core (and legs, obviously.)

keep the weight. use the strengths you have. you could easily be center midfield, they need size to knock people around. the two biggest kids on our varsity had a contest their senior year to see who would get the most yellow cards by the end of the season, so size will help. if you tank a kid, hes gonna be cautious and hestitate around you the rest of the game, trust me.
