What is the best BMX bike i can get for around $250?

I am a beginner and plan to only do street stuff, what is a good BMX bike i can get, also i want it to be light and strong so it doesn't brake and should i get pegs.

P.S. The bike has to look good
i need to know a brand and i am a beginner so it needs to be strong so it doesnt brake bcuz i know i will fall
 
Go to the store and test drive several. Go to a neighborhood bike store. I used to have a Free Agent that was FAST, but it was light, so it wouldn't take a lot of abuse. You learn to use your legs as shock absorbers, so if you ride it correctly, it doesn't have to be a tank. I don't think you can buy an American made BMX anymore, but that used to be the deal. They pretty much all are made out of chromoly anymore, or an even better alloy, so you won't break it.
 
Get a kink curb for $250. Or try craigslist/ebay and get a used good bike. I know it has a couple scratches, but you are going to get some on it anyways right? Even if you do get a used bike, you could just get new parts for it.
