I am looking to buy a bicycle computer as a gift, but do not know much about them or what to look for. Are there any recommendations for what to look for? Any certain brands? Thank you for any advice or recommendations.
A Garmin Edge 500 is really nice. It is small and light and supports everything you need: gps data, cadence/speed, heart rate, and power meter reception.
The best one for the money is a Schwinn cyclocomputer that Walmart sells for $10. They will keep track of your total distance and have a resettable trip odometer. It will keep track of your top speed, average speed, ride time and give you distance down to 1/1000 of a mile. It turn on and off automatically and the batteries last forever. I have 4 of them and never had a problem and haven't changed a battery yet.
