What is the basic process to setup a small business?

I want to make sure I know.

I am planning on setting up a small repair shop that mostly basic repairs until I can hire one of my friends when they graduate then we can expand to full maintenance shop.

I already own all the tools and their fully paid off.


I have a felony and three disabilities so I figerd since I help up for half a year working 4 and half hours 5 days a week I could go one step further and just run my own.
 
You should try to write a business plan as to how you will meet your goals. You also need to check with your local government agencies to see what, if any, certificates you need to open your shop.

You should check with your state government to file the papers you need such as a DBA or corporation filings to register the business.
