what is the Attendance register of Branch Office?

Dear Sir / Mam. As i am working in branch office as a accountant in Tamilnadu,. is it compulsorily to be maintain the attendance register in tamilnadu? if yes what is the Register Book should i keep? and what is the problem will come if i am not maintain?
