Which of the following is NOT true of meiosis?

A - During metaphase, spindle micotubules come into contact with chromosomes.

B - The chromosome number in the newly formed cells is half that of the parent cell.

C - The homologous chromosomes line up along the metaphase plate, or equator of the cell.

D - The cytoplasm of the cell and all its organelles are divided approx. in half.

E - In anaphase, the sister chromatids travel to opposite ends of the cell.

I've eliminated C and D. E and A are correct, too... I think. B doesn't look wrong, but it seems like it could be a trick question. Your thoughts?
THANKS. I have no idea why I am so retarded. The best answer will go to the first answerer, even though both of you are correct!

A is the wrong one.

Metaphase is when they line up, but prophase is when the microtubules first come into contact with the chromosomes.
