What is the adverage respitory (breathing) rate for betta fish??? Thnx!!!
 
Can't give you an exact number but if it looks fast he may be ill due to a variety of reasons. If you're keeping him in a bowl you really need to get him a tank with a heater and filter about 3-5g, bowls just kill bettas. If you do have him in such a tank something might be up with your water, some pet stores will test your water for you so it might pay to do so.
 
what.... you want me to go to like petsmart or something with a stopwatch and time the average breath rate?....
why does it even matter.... betta's have a labyrinth gill meaning they can breath surface air....
