what is renewable energy?

Can anyone explain to me in simple terms what renewable energy is and what the benefits of renewable energy are??
Sorry, i'm a bit slow at catching on to things and the internet is confusing me

renewable energy is something that can be produced naturally. for example, wind turbines. instead of coal to make the generator shaft spin, the wind can do it for us. same with solar panels we've come so far with Technology today that we can use the sun to create vast amounts of energy, solar is the largest growing renewable energy source right now.
