...being gay? I just don't get it? I just don't understand why being gay is such a taboo thing in our society. It's just a preference, that's all it is.

I'm not gay but the whole thing is really annoying. If I were gay I bet I'd be pretty pissed off about society making it such a big deal about it
Why is someone's personal choice of who they want to have s-e-x with such a big deal?
I agree with you in good perspective towars LGBT people but CORRECTION PLEASE!!!! being gay or lesbian is not a preference! preference is synonymous with CHOICE! you can't compare it with something like the preference of t-shirts to wear or colors. Gay peopel never PREFER OR CHOOSE TO BE GAY. It's their nature to like same sex...they cant help their hearts not to palpitate over same sex.
If it is just a T-SHIRT WHICH CAN BE CHOOSE NOT TO WEAR IT, then gay people will never wear it and perhaps they will BURN or BURY IT. WHY? because most of the gay people have hatred of being gay! You will never understand until you did not experience it! its because you are straight! you just dont know how hard it is to be gay!

Culture is so interested in homosexuality because it is different from the norm. Since the beginning of time it has always been man and woman. Man and man or woman and woman would have never even been considered because it wouldn't have made any sense in the past. People believe that God put man and woman on the earth to pro-create i.e. to reproduce but homosexuality defies that and people can't stand devience.
There's a number of arguements both for and against homosexuailty but tbh I don't think any are strong enough to withstand the wrath of the catholic church. It's basically down to religion and the thoughts of two men showing any form of affection to one another being "abnormal". Man has been dominant for so long with the womans role being to carry a child that any suggestion of change in those roles be met with hostility.
You are right thought that its only a preference but some people just can't get their heads around that. I've argued that for years but straigth people especially can't get their heads around it.
