in the news? I heard on the news recently a comment made by the local politician promoting fire safety in the home..."We have seen house fires that cause damage to the house" DUH! Have you see a house fire that DIDN'T cause damage?
(Just ONE example/story each please)
 
Those reporters who are put into an area to give live coverage on hurricanes, and they are standing there being pelted by the storm, remarking "It's really windy here now". Really?

I also like how they'll ask victims of anything how they are doing. Well, how the hell do you think they're doing?
