It is a procedure they perform for a bulging or herniated disc that is causing pain. They do it in new jersey and I think a pain management doctor probably would be the one to do the procedure. They go in with some sort of a camera guided tool and remove plugs from the center of the effected disc. I guess the theory is that when they do that it relieves some of the outward pressure and reduces the herniation. I'm no expert on the issue but that is basic idea. My doctor wanted to do it in new jersey but the work comp insurance carrier never approved it. I don't know if I can give out doctors names on this form so I am not going to do so at this time unless someone else tells me it's o.k..
