What is more important?

So why do you have a desire to live where people think exactly like you do? Isn't it good to have a bit of variety? That's what I like about this forum, there are people that believe different things. But I wouldn't count your chickens before they hatch. There's another election in a year and another presidential election another 2 years after that. History has shown that whenever one party takes control of both houses and the presidency it has bounced back. Come 2006, we shall see.

So therefore if the flag currently represents freedom and rights, banning those rights would remove what the flag represents.

So in essence, you are supporting that what the flag represents should not be freedom and rights, but instead authoritarian will.

I would love to see you try defend yourself aganist that, but then again that will come with the invisible pink unicorn reveals herself to the world on live TV. :p

A threat is pretty straight forward, if I say I will do something bad or demand something or else I will do something bad (that something bad being illegal ie stealing or murdering) it is a threat. Flag burning falls under none of these categories.

Shame the poll lists who voted and how. Under fabric more important there is Voice Of Reason. Did you do it in your sleep? Or are you just lying?

You seemingly have a collection of GoRAB. You worship a religious belief system, the military, your country, your country's leadership, your country's flag and Clint Eastwood. All but Eastwood have your 100% loyalty, without reservation. What's one more?

Is dissent the current reason for the Iraq mess? Hard to keep up, they keep changing. Damn that Saddam for threatening my dissent.

I know what to do. I'll save this entire thread. When I feel like publically embarrasing VOR, I'll just show that he denied he voted that fabric was more important then freedom in a public poll. :p

ditto. This "get used to it or get out" attitude is anti-American in itself. This is supposed to be a country where all beliefs are allowed to be had and expressed. I love my country and will fight to change it for the better, not run away to someplace else. If a bunch of people turned out to be liberals, would you move somewhere else? I bet you wouldn't.

I thought you were allowed to, at least I think you should be allowed to. If there is a law against it it's most likely just against profanity not hate speech. If you said "all black people are idiots" that would be free speech, and not illegal.

Could be to symbolize something wrong about religion, I don't know (not really big into that either). But the use of that by KKK members was meant to say 'get out, or we will kill you', and that type of 'speech' has always been illegal. But absent of that type of malice, cross burning is no more illegal than any other type of offensive 'speech'. And should never be. Just like we should never be so fascist as to limit flag desecration.

If it is speech, banning it is against the First Amendment.

If it is not speech, it is still protected under personal property rights.

Got it? Or should we be socialists and destroy personal property rights?

I would probably agree with you if the democratic party was the party of JFK or "Scoop" Jackson but its not........Its the party of Howard Dean, Hillary and Teddy Kennedy .................As long as it their party winning elections will be hard to come by..........This country is made up of mostly moderates and Conservatives and they will never elect anyone who is extreme left or right.......

Its no accident that the Republicans control everything now............

Stay tuned.............

That is a good point conservatives are all for smaller govermanet unless it comes to their moral values. Then we need special laws to restrict peoples freedoms. Consevatives are in an uproar about what they term "activist judges" but the judges are only activist when it is a topic that the conservative doesn't agree with.
