What is more important?

I really want to burn one never wanted to before but since the repubinazis are making an issue of this I reaally want to now. The christonazi's from several local churches are having a 4th of july celebration at a local high school. I am tempted to show up and have

1, A man to man, woman to woman kissing party.

2, A flag burning party.

It is just a piece of cloth, the flag is not the country. As long as one person is discriminated against, leagally, the flag is a symbol of discrimination and hatred. Anyone who loves freedom is not truely free unless they can loose what they love and let it go.

So the flag is more important than what it represents?

The question isn't what's important, it's what is more important. You are saying that the flag is more important than what it represents. How can something be more important than what it represents?

it was such a stupid poll i voted for fabric
as long as the fabric shimmers and glimmer in the dawn
and covers some nice and supple boobies

carry on

A threat to freedom

A constitutional amendment to protect the flag may only serve to protect the politicians who pompously wrap themselves in the flag.

Only in an atmosphere of fascism is one's patriotism ever questioned by another. Laws can be interpreted to mean different things from what was intended.

This amendment doesn't protect the rights of the people but enshrines a new government power over dissenters.

The risks to our freedom with this amendment far outweigh the risks posed by flag burners. Setting things on fire is already being adequately governed by local burning ordinances.

Its to bad that an Amendment has to be made but the Liberals and socialists give us no choice............

Some might question whether desecrating the flag is speech or and action.......

If it is speech why is it illegal to burn a cross?

What is the difference?

what do you know, the monkey suprises me again.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. That's rich. Comming from the person who doesn't know squat about the goverment.

Actually many people have burned the flag as a protest aganist the government. Often it was done during a non-election year.

Alright. I see you copied that right off of someone else's blog.

Wrong again. The President cannot go to war. The president cannot even declare war. Congress, as represented by the House and Senate are the only people who can declare a state of war. Congress has not declared war.

No.

This is not a dictatorship - it yet remains an elected Democratic Republic. I don't have to get used to a damned thing. I can think and say out loud that you and the Monkey in Cheif are idiots, this ban is anti-American, and I can back up how I feel with my vote in the next election (and I will). Under no circumstances does any American have to put up or shut up.

The Dems were moving left after Clinton, and some want further left. I say good. That will definitely give a centrist party the chance to take the middle over. Which is definitely needed since neither side has been there in quite some time.

I voted for freedom and rights. How someone could value a piece of symbolism over them is beyond my comprehension. But since a majority of those desiring to lessen my freedom and rights also worship mythology, I'm not surprised.

Since VoR brought up cross burning and said "what's the difference between it and flag burning?", he then decided that all cross burning was intimidation. Is all flag burning intimidation as well? Get your argument straight.

Which one? I travel to Canada a lot and used to live in Seville and they extremely different places.

I must say VoR - for all your claims to patriotism, I have NEVER in my life encountered anyone so clueless as to what America is really about. I actually suggest that you move to a place where conservatism always wins and there is no room for dissent. I think you would be much happier - then you would not have to put up with all these people around you utilizing their freedom to disagree with you.

But you clearly stated otherwise, and you voted otherwise. You voted that the piece of fabric is more important then the freedoms it represents. Now you are saying otherwise.

VOR is flip flopping again.

And with your current attitude and those like you, you will lose again..........Hey I love it............keep up the good work......

I don't think I could have the hate for someone that you have but if I did I would definitely move on to a place like Canada or Cuba where the majority agree with my beliefs.........

That is just me though...........
