its illegal to leave the scene of an accident without leaving your contact details

I would imagine she will be fined- if the person called the police they could arrest her for leaving the scene of an accident.

well, i went out with my next door neighbour earlier in the car, shes 40 got a driving license, she was driving a VW volkswagen so it is quite big car, shes only just starting driving again after her husband has walked out on her, so she is still getting to grip with the car. but today when we were going into the car park, there was a street lamp on the side of a bend as u go into the car park and she wasnt going slow but she wasnt going fast, but she lost control and accidently drove into the back of a car. obvs it was abit damaged, the bumper bit came off and dented it abit, a guy who saw it told her that he would tell the person ( damaged car owner) what happened, etc. but what is likely to happen cuz she went home as she had to go somewhere ?
are the police going to come round? arrest her ? or what im not sure what will happen, what do u think ?

If she didn't leave a name or a number on the damaged car, it's a hit and run and she could get fined or so a little bit of jail time. It depends on the judge, cuz she will need to go to court.

I couldn't really understand you, but it sounds like your friend shouldn't be driving. Period.

She's not going to get in trouble, that guy was screwing with her. She should just smile and realize that if she hasn't gotten in trouble yet, she got away with a freebie.

well its her fault so it will be on her
she shouldnt have left the scene, the police prefer if you just switch off the car and call them so that the evidence is right there in front of them when they arrive. Im assuming she has insurance so her premium will go up and she will lose her no claims, she shouldnt be arrested though
