What is it with Napoleon Dynamite?

I have just watched the DVD of Napoleon Dynamite, and whilst I enjoyed it, I found myself waiting for a definite hook which would get me. The dancing skit is clearly the standout scene, and I can see how being very different from the many formula films is a plus, but it just didn't press my buttons. And I don't quite know why.

Anybody?

I don't think it's about a generational thing, merely what appeals to someone's sense of humour/humor. I wouldn't deny that some would see Napolean as the height of comedic genius - just that I didn't
