What is it with Christians and Intelligent design?

They seem incapable of comprehending the following simple facts:

It is true that humans can use intelligence to design something complex.
But it is also true that intelligence is not the only way for complexity to form.

A star converts hydrogen into more complex elements using fusion... is a star intelligent?
A drop in temperature converts water into a fractal snow flake... are fractals intelligent?
An RNA molecule can make a copy of itself... is RNA intelligent?
Two cells can build the human body in 9 months... are cells intelligent?

This all seems quite obvious to me. No matter what you 'think' is true, nature builds complexity. It's all around us and we can watch it in the act. We can understand exactly how it is doing it, and the physical systems involved.

If you really want to you, you could say God set it all in motion, but he certainly wasn't required. Even if he set off the big bang, everything that happened after that, would still have happened, whether he was involved or not.

If you look at the world with a very narrow mind it all seems really complicated... but what makes you think all that complexity happened at once? It was a gradual process that literally took billions of yeas.

To start with there was nothing but a big cloud of hot gas. But out of that came stars, out them came elements, out of them came planets and molecules and self replicating molecules and life and us.
