I have LPR, and for me the sore muscles were swelling around my vocal corRAB due to acid. My whole left side of my neck hurt and my glanRAB were swollen. Have you been diagnosed with acid reflux or LPR?

Hi Nessie01
It took a long time for me to get better three years ago. I had that lump feeling for a long time. Then it went away, and I kept taking Prevacid but stopped last year (dummy me, thought I was healed somehow) and then boom I got it again. There were signs though of it coming on. I was nauseous in the a.m. all the time and had horrible burning in my chest, then the mucous (geez that's bad stuff, I drown in it at night esp.) and I really didn't contribute it to LPR, not til I got the lump sensation and it scared me. So, yes, I think I had a remission for quite a while. But this flare up is much worse. I never had the swollen glanRAB before and it scared me a lot which of course is more stress. I bought some apple cider vinegar this a.m. and am going to try it. I read another post on it and also I'm going to try eating an orange after I eat dinner or lunch. I read that the wrong kind of acid is being produced. I don't know how true that is, but I am willing to try anything at this point. I can't stand feeling this way. It has really messed up my life and I've had to take some time off work. I never had this problem til I got my gall bladder removed (it looked like a gravel pit) and I don't know if the two are connected or not. I'm on Omeprazole now, what are you taking and how do you handle this disease thing? Hope you are getting better. I'll keep you posted and others too on what works, what doesn't, at least for me. So much for Christmas dinner!

hi gypsy
i have got sever neasea agian now i felt it coming on i think its def gastrits or some infalamtion i sometimes wonder if i have bile reflux as i have had sever inflamation like this three times in the past year, i go to a guy who gives me homeopathics and it fixes it but it keeps coming back, im seeing him tomorro, i have neausea anyway but i always no when i have the inflamation as its a deferent type of neaseas and baddddddd as im prevacidx2 a day i would figure that if it was caused by acid that the ppi would prevent this...........all the other triggers for gastritis dont apply to me as i hardly drink alcohol dont take disprin, no surgery etc......but the neasea is severe i feel so sickkkkkkkk..........its horribel...........i have had stomach probs for years but this last six months have been major i develped LPR and neaseua, gastritis which i never had before really........im not sure how to get better really..........i just want to get well so i can have a baby.............xmas will suc!!! i need my gallbladder out but im scared to but then it may help heal me, so im at a loss at the moment do i risk it? im certainly not getting anybetter on prevacid tho it has helped some of my LPR symptoms and has taken the acidity feeling in my tummy....ness

i want to try ginger as its supposed to be good for gastritis and digestion and gerd but im scared that it will inflame me more...............i need to get to the doctor and change my gastro spec as he is no good and dosnt care about my issues either....ness

Nessie01;
Yep, that's exactly it. Very very uncomfortable. It feels deep. These symptoms scare me. I went to ER thinking I had throat cancer or something. I choke on mucous during the night and my nose is all stuffed up in the a.m. and the lump feeling, very sore neck and in between my shoulder blades. I was nauseous all the time til I started omeprazole, 20mg. x2 a day. This is the worst I've ever had it. Last flare up was 3 yrs. ago but my neck never hurt like this. It's getting a little better but I still have the lump. Had my throat scoped and it showed a lot of swelling and that's why I have the globus sensation (lump in throat).

i get neasea as well but its mostly controlled by the PPI tho it can also flare up anyway, im never sure if its from the LPR or my nonfuctoning gallbladder....having said that it could also be from gastritis as its severe when it hits, im sure all this stuf going on with me has inflamed my stomach

can i ask you about your flare three years ago how long did it take for you to get better, have you been normal for those years until now or did you have manageable symptoms? im just curoius as i have heard that LPR can disapper for a while and then return like remission perioRAB, it gives me a little hope at least....have you been on PPI for three years? sorry for the questions but you sound a little bit like me lol, and you had your gallbladeer out whereas mine neeRAB to come out!!!

i do hope you go into remission again soon cause this is horribel and yes i freak out as well its a side effect of the LPR.........stress!!!!!

Hi Nessie01
When I had my gallbladder, I got very sick like what you are describing. Lots of gastritis, nausea, etc. I went with the surgery cuz my doc told me it had to go. I didn't want an emergency situation either. Good luck with it, and I hope things settle down so you can have a baby. How sweet! Me, I'm too old and I never had children, but I got my puppy, named Gypsy Boots! One way I'm looking at this LPR thing, is the good thing, is it's making me eat better and take care of myself. I ate an orange yesterday and it did not bother me at all. I also tried a cup of warm water with 2 tsp. of apple cider vinegar, and I guess it was o.k. I'm feeling a bit better today, the "lump" I don't feel as much. But I still was choking on mucous all night. I'm going to try drinking a lot of water and see if it thins it out a bit. Fivestaraudio1, what other symptoms do you have and are you feeling better?

hi gypsyboots
well maybe my gallbladder is behind my gastritis then, i will have to get it out and find out i guess............i must be relfuxing bile which is causing the gastritis i guess because my gallbladder cant store it it has to go somewhere? kind of makes sense..........and as im PPI it cant be caused by acid.....hmmmmmmmmm its all fitting as gallbaldder, so did the gastritis stop for you after the gallbladder came out? i saw my homeopath today he tested me on his Meridian stress test machine and yes my stomach was highly inflamed so now i have homeopathic drops for three weeks............his stuff always works on me so im a little less stressed knowing that it will clear it up for a few months until i get myself sorted... oh im also starting to take zantac 150mg at night along with my PPI im sure that the myalnta and galvisocn i take before bed are what are ginving me stoamch cramps first thing in the morning............ness
