A successful exchange of bodily fluids, which is the entire biological purpose of said expressions of intimacy, and of intimate relationships in general.
 
Kissing, sex, or feelings isn't 'being intimate.' It's having sex. Intimacy is sharing on a deep level. It's sharing secrets, it's sharing vulnerabilities. Being intimate certainly changes relationships. Intimacy takes relationships to a much deeper level of knowingness and trust. Having sex doesn't.
