What is HTML code to position my Adsense Ad at the top of my website?

Hi there,

Everytime I try to position my Adsense ads to the top center with this: <div align="center"> source code </div> , my ads end up at the bottom of my page.

I need the before and after snippets that will place my ads at the top left and top center of my website.

Thank you so much! I cannot find this information anywhere.
