What is Financial Aid Deferment?

All I know is that fee's and tuition are held until a later date (that later date is specified on the card which you then give to the bursar or the place you pay your tuition and fees at). Can anybody explain to me the details of what it is though. I don't understand it. The more information the better I think.
 
when u get ur aid it will be mail to the school after the school takes out all of its fees u will get a check in the mail for the left over money about a month after school starts
