What is everyone's worst horror film?

Open Water
Wrong Turn
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (The Modern Re-make)
Blair Witch Project 1 and 2
Jeepers Creepers 2

I do however have a guilty pleasure for the first Jeepers Creepers which wasn't too bad and great in the sense that the Bad Guy won.

I thought The Grudge was scary. Not a great film, but scary in a way that most modern films aren't. The original The Ring was scary for about 2 minutes. Western stuff like Saw is never scary.

I was forgetting the original Ring! One scene in that (you probably know which one) scared me the first time I saw it.
Don't think the Grudge was scary, it was just a compendium of horror bits from other Japanese films.

ring two isnt that bad, surely! you all obviously havent seen rasen (spiral) the alternative sequel to the original japanese ring. the ring two isnt even the worst ring sequel in my opinion. :)

I didn't like Jeepers Creepers much. Too scary. I sat in the dark watching it and I got that scared I had to turn the lights on and turn it off for an hour or so. It was the way he was throwing them dead bodies down that pipe, it was too eerie. :/

The thing that I have observed is that young people today tend to completely dismiss the paranormal activity of such a movie and they also can not appreciate the subtleness that a movie with that kind of screenplay has. The lack of modern special effects is another factor. Young people seem to need that. You may wonder about the subtleness I speak about but that is exactly what creates the air and anticipation of good horror along with the obvious horror scenes. To contrast my view with those that are obviously young and have given their opinions I am very suprised to see some of the movies that they feel are scary, many of which I think are quite silly.

The Exorcist (the original and not the one released with extra scenes) is recognized as the best and scariest horror movie of all time and for good reason.

Subtleness? Sorry, but the one thing the Exorcist is not is subtle. I'm not saying it's complete rubbish like KennyB and kombat wombat, it does have a lot going for it, but I think it's actually closer to the all-out gore shock films of today than the mainstream horror films of the time.
Just because a film is the first to do something doesn't give it any special status, imo.

It's just Hollywood making films for todays youth. Young people today can not appreciate the subtletys of good horror movies. They need special effects and stories that explain everything for them.

Of course it is very subtle. You wouldn't notice it if all you are concentrating on is the obvious scary parts and effects, something that younger people today look for.

Poltergeist III is one of the worst movies ever made, a totally shambolic insult of a film. Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child is also cack.

My number one though is Exorcist 2: The Heretic. See it and despair.

Does Jaws: The Revenge count as a horror film? It redefined the word "shite".

Speaking as a non-young person who saw The Exorcist when it was new, I thought it a tremendous disappointment; it achieves most of it's shocks by means of a deafening soundtrack which is probably why it doesn't work so well on tv.
The special effects were pretty ropey even by the standarRAB of the time and there is some horrendous overacting in it, particularly from Jason Miller and Ellen Burstyn
Max von Sydow and Linda Blair are excellent and almost compensate for the nonsensical, pro-catholic plot.
Exorcist II is just embarassing but III is great: scary, moving and absorbing despite the excruciating tacked-on bits with Nicol Williamson, who slices the ham even thicker than usual.
Even Jason Miller is ok in III! :)
For true terror see the original version of The Haunting.

(Slightly off topic but...have you read The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson... The Haunting is based on this. It is very good).

Oo someone mentioned The Fog, I'm sure i'll be adding The Fog remake onto my worst horror movies list, especially with cgi fog...

But we will see.
