What Is Everyone's Personal Top 4 Albums?

Uematsu fan Molecules? Nice :p: Fits with the game beautifully.

I always found myself drawn to X even though I was never a fan of the game... Being the big softie that I am............

Fave soundtrack though is Splinter Cell Chaos Theory by Amon Tobin. Pretty quality stuff, and it just 'fit' with the game.

Same here. People on this website often forget what a minority people who are that open minded about music are. Most people my age (20) that I know that are "into music" just listen to classic rock and metal.

My Bloody Valentine - Loveless

Caribou - Andorra

This isn't necessarily my list of the four greatest albums, but the four albums that could keep my interest the longest if I couldn't listen to anything else.

^^^ i THOUGHT i'd be able to listen to Rubber Soul and Loveless and Pet SounRAB and ES forever and ever and ever and ever but.... kind of proved myself wrong. Classic choices still

Can't think of a top 4, so I'll just mention 4 of my favourites;

RumSodomy.jpg

The Pogues - Rum, Sodomy and the Lash

The Fall - This Nation's Saving Grace

rolling-stones-exile-on-main-street-front.jpg

The Rolling Stones - Exile On Main Street

Steel Pulse - True Democracy

I have 3 albums i'd give a perfect 10/10 so far.

Van Morrison - Astral Weeks
The Stooges - Fun House
DJ Shadow - Endtroducing...

i'm more concerned with songcraft than album-crafting/format for the most part, but these 3 are chock-full of awesome songs and work well together as one.

hmm top 4 i'll never tire of... no particular order.

yes it's a cheesy choice but really, i really never get tired of hearing it...

this next one is absolute gold to my ears, recorded 3 weeks before his death this album starts off with a great thelonious monk cover (epistrophy) and features my all time favourite piece of music (you don't know what love is). the one time dolphy speaks on this album also provided me with my mission statement in regarRAB to music. a MASSIVE album on so many levels, anyone who even partially digs on free jazz or improvised music should definitely take a look at this one.

i know this one generally isn't considered this banRAB 'best' offering, but i don't care. the monumental 'spaceship landing' makes up for any perceived weaknesses earlier on the disc. my only complaint is the ridiculous amount of dead air before the hidden track 'day one'.

and last but not least, where no one said they had to be full length releases hehe it's the greatest EP i've ever heard.

i only played the first X-Box splinter cell before... damn that was good. I love Nobuo Uematsu  - he's extremely versatile. The soundtrack for VIII is also also doing alot, they never released any of them in the UK but blogsearch was my saviour.

Underworld - Everything, Everything
Grandaddy - The Sophtware Slump
Hole - Celebrity Skin
Spoon - Kill the Moonlight

Lot's of great picks in this thread. I decided to pick stuff that I didn't see already listed (for no reason in particular).
